Ann Croger BA Dip Ed.
Teaches: All age groups and classes! Adults too.
Co-founder and director of UpStage

When Ann was little, her brothers teased her for performing in front of the mirror. That passion became a fulfilling career in drama.

Ann, the founder of Upstage Youth Theatre, has a BA in Drama, a Diploma of Education, and over 30 years of performing and teaching experience—but shh, don't tell anyone! She loves connecting with students through creative expression.

A seasoned professional, Ann honed her craft in Newcastle and Sydney, passionately championing the transformative force of compelling storytelling. Specializing in crafting theatre events in unconventional settings, she ensures each production offers an unforgettable experience, affirming her belief that “All the world’s a stage.”

Ann has led programs like Hunter Drama Camp and the Creative Arts Camp for the Dept of Education, and co-coordinated auditions for Hunter School of the Performing Arts, where she was a dedicated staff member for a decade.

With a lifetime in theatre, Ann has directed countless productions, specializing in location theatre in unique and beautiful spots across Maitland and the Hunter Valley. She collaborates with a diverse range of people, from artists of various mediums to homicide detectives and basketballers, all eager to share their stories.

Ann’s dedication to fostering opportunities culminated in her role as a talent manager, spearheading Upstage's in-house artist representation initiative.

When Ann’s at home, she enjoys a cup of tea, a good book, and snuggles with her sausage dog, Alfonso the Great.
